About Our Client
Michael Page are actively working with a notable business based in East Leeds, who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. My client is looking for a driven individual looking to continue developing their finance career and grow into a management/financial accountant role. This is a fantastic opportunity for any Assistant Accountants who have gained experience in journals, accruals, prepayments and financial reporting to gain further exposure into the month end process and grow into a qualified accountant. Job Description
3. Assist in the preparation of monthly management and statutory accounts
4. Support the reconciliation of accounts, including bank reconciliations.
5. Posting journals, prepayments, accruals, depreciation's
6. Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems regularly.
7. Contribute to budget preparation and financial forecasting activities.
8. Support and suggest in process improvement
9. Collaborate with wider finance team in system transformation
10. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and administrative support as required.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
11. Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant in a similar role is preferred but not essential
12. Exposure to the month end process in journals, prepayments and accruals to hit the ground running
13. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
14. A commitment to pursuing professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA.
15. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
16. Strong communication skills
17. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work well within a team.
