Job Description
Based in the ELC setting at Birkhill Primary School, Dronley Rd, Birkhill, Dundee (ELC Model 1).
This role follows workstyle 1 - Fixed.
In this workstyle, most of your time will be spent delivering front-line services. Depending on your role, there may be a limited requirement to access a specific council location during the workweek if services are not delivered at a council location.
Angus Council operates the following models in their early learning and childcare settings:
1. ELC Model 1 - children's funded entitlement is 190 set days at 6 hours per day
2. ELC Model 2 - children's funded entitlement is 152 set days at 7½ hours per day
3. ELC Model 3 - children's funded entitlement is 228 set days at 5 hours per day
Settings in models 1 and 2 operate during term-time.
ELC Model 3 settings are open for more hours daily and are only closed for two weeks over Christmas/New Year, three weeks in July/August, plus public holidays and in-service days. They operate approximately 46.6 weeks per year, allowing staff to plan their annual leave differently from term-time staff. Staff in these settings can also apply for additional time off while the setting is open.
Working 36.25 hours per week, you will work up to 195 days per year on various patterns (Monday to Friday), during term time or equivalent.
You will collaborate with schools and ELC staff to deliver a flexible, high-quality, education and care service tailored to young children and their families. You will take a lead role in the ELC setting, modeling and promoting good practice, and will be responsible for planning and implementing curricular programmes with SEYPs. You will also lead the staff team in executing the improvement plan and quality assurance procedures.
You will undertake delegated management and operational duties from the ELCC manager, including supervising EYP and EYA staff, induction, and professional development processes.
Interviews are scheduled for Friday, 20 June 2025.

You must be able to become a member of the PVG Scheme.
Membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or a commitment to register with the SSSC is essential, in line with their requirements.
