* £Competitive salary + bonus + benefits
This is a newly created leadership role at a fast-growing, entrepreneurial law firm.
It’s a rare opportunity to build a Client Insight and Business Intelligence function from the ground up.
You’ll play a vital part in shaping how the business grows next, by delivering data-driven insight that goes far beyond dashboards. You’ll be joining a firm that’s grown consistently had double-digit growth year-on-year, and now needs to bring more structure, strategy, and clarity to its client, business intelligence and business development decisions.
This role will devise a strategy from which to do this and help to implement a data driven culture which uses their data as well as secondary information to inform the organisations business development, marketing and client engagement strategies.
The ideal candidate will have experience in another law firm or professional services business, where you have experience of using data to drive business development and marketing decisions.
What you'll be responsible for:
* Designing and leading the client insight and business intelligence function, reporting into both the Head of Marketing & BD and the Executive Committee.
* Developing a firm-wide BI strategy that supports client acquisition, retention and growth.
* Working across systems (CRM, finance, onboarding, marketing, etc.) to clean, connect and align data.
* Owning the creation of dashboards, reporting packs, and performance tracking tools to show what’s working across business development initiatives.
* Providing partner-level insights into client engagement, revenue trends, referral value, and ROI on BD and marketing activity.
* Championing data integrity and data culture across the business.
* Identifying new market opportunities and helping the business target high-value referral sources, clients, and sectors.
* Presenting recommendations at senior level — you’ll have board visibility from day one.
* Managing and mentoring a growing team (initially two experienced internal data specialists).
What they're looking for:
* A commercially-minded leader with a track record of delivering client insight and BI in a law firm or professional services environment.
* Confidence working across data platforms like Power BI, Excel, SQL, and CRM systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, Introhive).
* A proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable business advice.
* Stakeholder confidence — you know how to manage up, present with impact, and influence senior decision-makers.
* Someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You'll be setting direction, but also digging into the data.
* Experience in leading or mentoring analysts and shaping a team function.
* Familiarity with data-informed marketing and BD, such as digital campaigns, CRM tracking, and performance measurement.
Why this firm, and why now?
* It’s a genuine blank-slate opportunity: no red tape, no legacy blockers, and full support from the board.
* The team already has great raw data, tools, and talent but they need someone to tie it all together.
* You’ll be stepping into a firm with an entrepreneurial culture decision-making is fast, and ideas are encouraged.
* You’ll directly influence how growth is tracked, resourced, and delivered across a firm with strong referral relationships and a dominant position in its sector.
* You'll be a visible, valued expert not buried behind the scenes.
* Strategic thinker with high attention to detail.
* Confident presenting insights to boards and senior leadership.
* Able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
* A natural leader and team motivator.
What’s on offer:
* £Competitive salary + bonus.
* 28 days holiday + buy/sell options.
* Private medical insurance (incl. family cover).
* Pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer).
* Life assurance & permanent health insurance.
* Hybrid working with 9:30–5:30 core hours.
