Job Description:
Are you passionate about supporting children and teenagers? Do you have a caring and positive nature, with an interest in mental health and behaviour?
If yes, then this could be the role for you…
A Specialist Provision near Calne is looking for a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their team as early as next week. This SEN School caters for children and teenagers who display challenging and anti-social behaviour, often due to diagnosed social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as Autism and ADHD.
As a Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will…
* Help to encourage positive decision-making amongst students.
* Build strong and meaningful relationships with all pupils.
* Learn and implement restorative practices and therapeutic methods to engage pupils.
* Help to increase attendance and, in turn, improve behaviour.
* Boost emotional well-being and self-esteem.
This is a fantastic opportunity if you are considering a career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselling, Probation, or Occupational Therapy, providing valuable experience for entering these fields.
The school is ideally looking for an individual who is determined and resilient, with a keen interest in mental health and behaviour. Previous experience working with children or managing challenging behaviour would be beneficial. A degree in Psychology or Criminology would be great!
