Senior Data Privacy Manager – Glasgow or Knutsford (your pick)
Financial Services – £75,000 - £90,000, benefits, the usual
You know GDPR inside out. You dream about DPIAs. You’ve got an inbox full of DSARs and know exactly what to do with them.
If that’s you, read on.
This isn’t a people management role. You won’t be stuck trying to motivate a junior who keeps “forgetting” what a record of processing activity is. It’s just you and two other grown-ups. A tight team. Experienced, capable, focused. You’ll be the most senior one - so yes, you’ll be the go-to on all things privacy. But you won’t be alone.
What will you actually do?
* Be the calm in the chaos when a data breach hits - you've got the incident plan, and you know how to use it.
* Train the rest of the business on what they need to know (and more importantly, what they don't).
* Write the policies. Police the policies. Keep the regulators happy and the fines at bay.
* Help build a privacy strategy that doesn’t just tick boxes, but actually helps the business do better work with data.
* Deal with the usual suspects - DSARs, DPIAs, privacy notices, risk assessments, the works.
* Work with stakeholders who might think GDPR is a three-letter swear word. You're there to educate, not babysit.
You’ll need:
* 8+ years in Data Privacy. This isn’t your first rodeo.
* Hands-on experience with privacy operations, governance, and advisory work.
* Solid understanding of GDPR (and probably a few battle scars to prove it).
* Confidence to deal with senior stakeholders without slipping into legalese.
* Financial Services background is a bonus. Privacy certifications too. But common sense and experience trump all of that.
Location? Either Glasgow or Knutsford. Hybrid working. Not fully remote - you’ll be expected to show your face a couple of times a week. But they trust you to manage your time like an adult.
If you want to play with frameworks, lead privacy strategy, and actually make a difference in how a business handles personal data - instead of just ticking boxes - then hit apply.
If you want to be micromanaged, or want a team of 10 to hide behind, probably give this one a miss.
