Position: Hospitality / Hotel Supervisor
Reporting to: Line Manager
Hours of Work: Average 40 hours over 5 days a week to nature and demand of business
About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic and hands-on shift supervisor to join our team at Herriots Hotel & Rhubarb Restaurant.
You'll play a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience during your shifts, covering all areas of the hotel including food and beverage service in addition to reception duties.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the shift, whilst showcasing our food and beverage service, atmosphere and warm hospitality.
There is also an opportunity for additional hours for someone who is social media savvy in creating in the moment content and imaginative posting to further develop promotion and reach over all social platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Shift Supervision
* Lead food & beverage service during assigned shifts (restaurant, bar, events)
* Support and motivate team members to deliver excellent service
* Ensure smooth shift handovers and accurate reporting
* Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance
* Assist with staff training and daily operations
* Covering reception duties
Whilst this is not the main focus of this role, the ability to do the following would be a bonus:
* Capture engaging content (photos, videos, behind-the-scenes) on a smartphone/ iPad
* Create and post content to Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
* Highlight menus, seasonal offers, events, and team culture
* Monitor trends and suggest creative ideas for social growth
* Track engagement and basic performance metrics
What We're Looking For
* Experience in hospitality, ideally in a supervisory or team leader role
* Passionate about service and presentation
* Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
* Creative mindset with an eye for detail
Desirable but Not Essential
* Active and knowledgeable about social media trends and content formats
* Comfortable with photo and video creation using a mobile device
* Experience using tools like Canva, CapCut, Lightroom, or Meta Business Suite

About Herriots Hotel & Rhubarb Restaurant?
We are an award winning hotel that is passionate about what it does, and values its team. Tripadvisor rated #1 hotel in Skipton.
Located in Skipton, North Yorkshire on the edge of the town, this operation has a 40-cover restaurant with bar, function suite for 100 and 25 bedrooms with an additional 5 in our Herriots House located next door to the hotel. Maintaining a minimum of 80% occupancy, a busy function trade and steady restaurant and bar clientele, this enthusiastic and capable team require someone with drive, enthusiasm, and a solid work ethic to join them. The restaurant and bar are both delightful and comfortable.

Our restaurant, Rhubarb serves fresh home-cooked food, regional, and traditional with a twist.

Pay: £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
