Weare currently looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join ourTheatre Scheduling Team at Barnsley Hospital.
Thepostholder will support the supervisor and Service Management teams to managethe theatre schedule on Bluespier to ensure a ccurate reflection of theatresession allocation.
TheScheduling Officer will be an individual that communicates clearly, is willingto learn at pace and adapt the demands as required by the role and department.
Weare a dynamic team that work together, consistent and focus on ongoingimprovement to ensure we provide a quality service to the specialties utilisingBarnsley Hospital theatres in a timely manner. This is a great opportunity fordevelopment.
Thisrole is also a fantastic opportunity for apprentices who are currently studyingfor NVQ level 2/3. Apprentices should note that the salary would be Agenda forChange Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band) until they have completed theirapprenticeship.
Main duties of the job
Ensuring all theatre lists are scheduled as per Trust policy
Ensuring 6-4-3-2 process is followed
Strong evidence of team working acrossprofessional boundaries
Ability to work under pressure and respond toshort timescales on time and with accuracy
Ability to adapt and willingness to learn newways of working
Knowledge, skills and experience:
Proficient computer skills working with TheatreSystem and Microsoft Office application
Active team member who is able to communicateclearly

Experience
* Previous experience working and communicating with the public.
* At least 2 years experience in a administrative role.
* Previous experience of working in scheduling role.
Knowledge and Awareness
* Previous experience of clinical administration.
* Experience of working in a hospital; environment.
* Understanding the need for confidentiality.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Experience of working in an acute theatre environment.
Qualifications
* NVQ level 3 in (or equivalent) in Business Administration.
* GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) Maths and English.
Skills and Abilities
* Able to communicate well with colleagues, patients and other members of the public.
* Understanding of how to work as part of a team.
* Have the courage to challenge & question appropriately.
