I’m delighted to be working with a global, complex, consumer-led business with c.£1bn annual turnover, operating across multiple entities and locations. With ambitious growth plans and a fast-moving commercial environment, they’re looking for a Group Financial Controller to play a pivotal role in leading group accounting, governance and financial control across the business.
This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of the finance function, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and supporting decision-making in a consumer-focused, high-volume environment.
The role
As Group Financial Controller, you’ll own the integrity of group financial reporting while leading and developing a high-performing financial control team. You’ll be responsible for ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and strong compliance across a multi-entity group, while supporting wider commercial and strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ownership of group consolidation and reporting across international entities and currencies
* Leading month-end, quarter-end and year-end close at group level
* Responsibility for statutory accounts, audits and regulatory compliance across the group
* Development and governance of group accounting policies and financial standards
* Oversight and leadership of UK-based financial control teams
* Partnering with FP&A, Tax and Treasury on management reporting, cash flow and working capital
* Supporting finance transformation, systems improvements and international projects
* Acting as a senior finance partner to leadership teams across the business
What they’re looking for
This role will suit a technically minded finance leader who thrives in a complex environment, where pace, volume and new challenges are the norm.
Candidates looking to step up in their career, and/or coming from “Senior” or “Head of” Group-style role will also be considered.
You’ll bring:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
* Strong post-qualification experience in a high-growth, multi-entity business
* Proven experience of group consolidation and statutory reporting
* A track record of leading and developing finance teams
* Deep understanding of financial controls, balance sheet management and audit
* Confidence working with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, operational business
* Strong systems and Excel capability, with experience of modern finance systems
* Big 4 / Top 20 audit background is advantageous but not essential.
