Join to apply for the Manufacturing Engineering role at Caterpillar Inc. This is an 12-month fixed-term contract role within the Manufacturing Engineering team to support NPI and continuous improvement projects on a secondment basis.
Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Project Support Technician - 12 Months Fixed term contract
Salary: £15.07 to £18.87 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Shrewsbury
Responsibilities and Duties
* Support new process standard work introduction.
* Provide new tooling support to the lines: assembly, machining or test.
* Implement and utilise Caterpillar CPS principles of 5s, waste elimination, standard work and lean manufacturing to setup new work areas.
* Bench marking of existing processes conducting time and motion studies.
* Utilise computer systems such as MS Office, MS Visio and MS Project to document and analyse data.
* Contribute to weekly team meetings, using past experiences and product knowledge to make key contributions.
Skills and Experience
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
* Knowledge of machining, assembly, test, logistics or support processes at Caterpillar Shrewsbury.
* Familiar with Caterpillar continuous improvement principles.
* Demonstrate planning, organising skills, adaptability, and flexibility.
* Team player resilience with customer focus efforts.
* Ability to multitask and prioritise work.
* Excellent computer skills
* Familiarity with Standard work
* Adaptability and ability to work on own initiative.
Candidates may have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
* Lean manufacturing experience.
* Familiarity of production and manufacturing routings
* ERP (QAD) experience
* Experience of new product introduction
* Project management experience
