The Position
The Island Nurse based at Hoy GP Practice will work as part of a small health team delivering care to the island population. The post is fixed‑term for 8 months, covering for postholders on secondment leave. Rented accommodation is available locally through a private landlord; rent is payable directly to the landlord.
Responsibilities
* Assessment, planning and monitoring of the quality of health care within the community across the lifespan.
* Community and practice nursing.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experienced Band 6 nurse with forward‑thinking, highly motivated, up‑to‑date clinical knowledge and skills.
* Interest in developing a wide range of skills in a remote and rural setting.
* Non‑medical prescribing qualification – essential requirement.
* Adaptable, resourceful, professionally accountable and confident to work without the resource of a hospital at hand.
* Must live and remain a resident within the UK.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration
* Based at Hoy GP Practice.
* Full‑time, 36 hours per week.
* Fixed‑term for 8 months.
