The Role
We are currently looking to recruit a Staff Test Design Engineer to join our team in our Livingston Design Centre.
In this position, you will be recognized as a key technical expert, leader, and mentor within the test development engineering field. You will take on the role of a technical and/or project team lead, providing essential technical guidance and ensuring the successful execution of projects.
You will develop test systems and fixtures that meet customer specifications, as well as creating and implementing design verification and validation procedures. You will also be responsible for reporting project status to the project manager in a clear and precise manner, enabling effective management of the project schedule and budget.
In addition you will also;
* Provide customer service leadership in project technical discussions, and support/lead business development and proposal creation.
* Report Status to the project manager in an accurate and concise manner so that the project manager can manage the schedule and budget.
* Provide field service for automated functional test equipment, including repair and maintenance.
* Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems. Work diligently to minimize down time.
* Update and release tester hardware, software, and design documentation to accommodate Engineering Change Orders. Perform incremental tester design verification and validation and update associated documentation
* Install new testers. Provide start up support and operator training.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
You will hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or have 8+ years’ experience.
Ideally you will also possess;
* Strong capabilities in decision-making, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
* Demonstrates robust analytical skills and a solid understanding of electronic components
* Skilled in programming languages such as LabVIEW, TestStand, C++, and C#
* Familiar with structured design principles
* Capable of collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team environment
