We are looking for experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Child Protection Team as a Practice Development Support. You will be supported by an experienced team manager. Our client has a strong and positive culture in this West Midlands local authority, which we would love you to be a part of. They offer regular monthly supervision and group reflective supervision. It would be ideal if you have auditing and evaluation experience. This role offers hybrid working, approximately two days per week in the local authority, depending on service need.
The post holder will support the rollout of the new quality assurance framework across children's services. They will work with managers and practitioners to improve service delivery through thematic practice evaluations, embedding learning, and ensuring practice is compliant with statutory responsibilities, safeguarding children, and achieving positive outcomes.
The role focuses on developing quality in practice, setting standards, and fostering successful social work environments. You will motivate and nurture staff, oversee social workers, assistants, coordinators, and students, ensuring positive, sustainable outcomes for children and families, with a commitment to safeguarding and efficiency.
Ideal candidate will be:
* Registered with Social Work England
* Experienced with children and families, including vulnerable groups
* Familiar with Court, Children in Need, and Child Protection processes
* Supportive of CIN and Child Protection planning, pre-proceedings, and court proceedings
* Knowledgeable about factors affecting children, including abuse and neglect
* Skilled in Child & Family Assessments with effective analysis, decision-making, planning, and review
* Capable of direct work with children and families
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues
* Committed to continuous improvement and excellent outcomes
* Excellent at mediation and negotiation
* Able to build meaningful relationships with children and families
* Experienced in multidisciplinary, interagency work
* Qualified for at least 2 years

* Use specialist communication skills for optimal outcomes
* Develop individual care plans respecting diversity and dignity
