Community Ambassador Volunteers are needed across Herts Family Centre Service in Broxbourne, Welwyn, and Hatfield.
Detailed description
Community Ambassador Volunteer – Supporting the Family Centre's vision by attending sessions, groups, local parent & toddler groups, and community events with your child. Share information about Family Centre Services and maintain links between the Centre and the community. This flexible role can be adapted around family commitments and local events.
Location and Times: Flexible across Broxbourne, Welwyn, and Hatfield.
Main Tasks include:
* Act as a liaison between the Family Centre and families/community.
* Attend FSS groups and local parent & toddler groups to share information and signpost to services.
* Stay updated on Family Support Service programmes and share relevant information.
* Encourage families to register and use the services.
* Share positive experiences and signpost where appropriate.
* Distribute information on early years, funding, courses, and workshops.
* Promote newsletter sign-ups and social media followings.
* Participate in groups and role model positive engagement.
FSS Groups include:
* Welcoming families, helping them feel comfortable.
* Assisting with setup and tidying.
* Supporting staff by explaining sessions and managing sign-in.
* Engaging with families during sessions.
* Assisting with surveys, feedback, and child voice activities.
* Assuming specific roles within sessions.
Events include opportunities to support FSS activities throughout the year with designated roles.
This role is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact in the community.
Skills, Experience, and Qualities Needed:
* Age 18 or over
* Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
* Friendly approach
* Maintain confidentiality
* Ability to work well independently and in a team
