Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket – Night Auditor
Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket are hiring a Night Auditor to join our nights team.
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out the end of day procedures and ensuring the safety of our guests with regular security walks.
Overview of duties
* Provide a warm and friendly welcome to all guests entering the hotel.
* Carry out the end of day shift balancing, night audit process, head office reports.
* Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all guests in house and the night hotel operation.
Main responsibilities
Customer relations:
* Provide a warm and friendly welcome to guests.
* Ensure all guest requests are catered for.
* Handles any guest complaints and remarks resolving them in accordance with hotel policy and notifying the duty manager.
* Ensures a full handover had been carried out.
Professional Techniques/ Production
* Carries out the night audit process. This includes ensuring the shift balancing, reports completed, reservations and arrivals checked, no show bookings processed.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests.
* Provide service when required in the residents bar.
* Follows up any customer requests (wake-up calls, taxi, breakfast room service, etc).
* Writes a report on activities and incidents that occur during the night.
* Ensures the reception area cleaning has been carried out as specified by the night checklist.
Management and Administration
* Respects the procedures for invoicing and cash operations.
* Is responsible for banking the receptions cash holdings.
* Establishes the closing of POS/ PMS and runs night audit, reporting the relevant files to the management.
Hygiene/ Personal Safety/ Environment
* Ensures that the workplace remains clean and safe, following nightly cleaning schedule and safety checklist.
* Applies the hotel's security regulations (Fire evacuation procedure, night floor walks, closure of accesses, etc)
* Respects the hotels commitments to the "Planet 21" programme (Saving energy, Recycling, Sorting waste, etc)
Reporting line
* The role reports directly into the Night manager/ Front office manager
Professional experience
* Previous experience as Night Auditor/Receptionist is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
* Experience using OPERA PMS system.
* Experience using Accor Hotels systems is an advantage but not necessary.
