The Opportunity
A growing digital services business is hiring a senior Commercial Manager to build and scale a brand‑new commercial function from the ground up. This is a first‑in‑role opportunity, responsible for defining commercial strategy, driving adoption through partner‑enabled distribution, and shaping how the product is positioned in a changing regulatory landscape.
You will own revenue delivery end‑to‑end and, as the product scales, be responsible for building and leading a telesales‑led growth team. This role offers significant autonomy, high visibility, and the chance to create the commercial blueprint for a product entering a major period of market change.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Revenue Ownership & Commercial Build
* Establish and own the revenue function, delivering agreed financial targets.
* Take accountability for commercial performance, including contribution to product-level P&L.
* Build scalable commercial models and growth frameworks.
* Maintain strong forecasting discipline, pipeline visibility, and performance reporting.
Strategic Partner Engagement
* Define how strategic relationships support commercial growth.
* Lead senior‑level commercial discussions to secure long‑term commitment.
* Navigate complex stakeholder environments to unlock adoption.
* Serve as the senior commercial representative externally.
Commercial & Product Positioning
* Shape how the product is positioned commercially in the market.
* Lead consultative discussions with senior decision‑makers to drive adoption.
* Translate regulatory change into a compelling commercial proposition.
* Provide market insight to inform pricing, proposition development and go‑to‑market activity.
* Work closely with Product and Growth teams to align capability and revenue goals.
Team Build & Revenue Leadership
* Design and build a telesales‑led growth team as adoption scales.
* Recruit, onboard and develop sales talent.
* Set clear targets, activity standards and performance metrics.
* Coach and lead the team to deliver consistent revenue results.
* Drive revenue both directly and through team performance.
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in senior commercial or partnerships roles.
* At least 2 years’ experience managing sales or commercial teams with measurable success.
* Demonstrable track record of building or scaling early-stage revenue functions.
* Strong commercial acumen, with experience owning revenue targets and influencing P&L.
* Ability to operate in ambiguity and create structure in fast‑changing environments.
* Confidence influencing senior stakeholders without formal authority.
* Experience with indirect, partner‑enabled or multi‑channel sales models.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑growing, product‑led organisation.
