They are now looking to hire a Resource Manager to join their London office, supporting a key practice group.
The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role within a growing resource management function, offering the chance to take ownership of resourcing strategy and drive operational efficiency across a busy legal team. You will work closely with partners, associates, and business services teams to ensure work is allocated effectively while supporting performance and development. Key responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the day-to-day allocation of work across the team, ensuring a balanced and commercially effective distribution
* Partnering with senior stakeholders to understand workflow demands and anticipate resourcing needs
* Monitoring utilisation, capacity, and productivity, identifying trends and addressing gaps where needed
* Supporting lawyers with workload management while aligning tasks with development goals and experience levels
* Maintaining accurate resource data and reporting, providing insights to support decision-making
* Managing leave and absences to ensure continuity of service and minimal disruption to client work
* Driving improvements in resourcing processes, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency
* Collaborating with HR, Finance, and other teams on onboarding, performance, and workforce planning matters
* Acting as a key point of contact for resourcing queries and resolving challenges in a pragmatic, solutions-focused way
Requirements
* Proven experience in resource management, workforce planning, or a similar operational role within a professional services environment
* Experience within a law firm is advantageous but not essential
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge where appropriate
* Commercially aware, with the ability to balance business needs with individual development considerations
* Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Strong analytical skills, including experience working with data and reporting tools (Excel proficiency preferred)
* A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to operate autonomously
* Resilient and confident in handling competing demands and resolving issues effectively
