About the Role
Full‑stack / product engineers at Ashby are expected to own large portions of a product, driving features from research to launch. The role focuses on solving customer problems, creating user‑centric solutions, and delivering high‑quality software at speed. Compensation is between £138,000 and £224,000.
Responsibilities
* Own end‑to‑end product development: research the market, write product specifications, design wireframes, implement features, and maintain the system.
* Build significant product components, such as automated interview scheduling, a declarative filter architecture that compiles to SQL, and an in‑app completion of signing offers.
* Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers, leading initiatives that require working across the stack.
* Contribute to reusable building blocks—analytics modeling, policy engine, workflow engine, and design system—that benefit the entire app.
* Ensure rapid delivery while maintaining product quality, adapting to changes and improving internal tooling.
Qualifications
* Comfortable tackling any part of the stack, from frontend to infrastructure.
* Experience with high product and technical ambiguity; ability to turn customer insight into powerful abstractions.
* Strong sense of balance between speed and quality; respect for high‑quality deliverables without stalling on process.
* Openness to feedback and a drive to continuously improve skills.
* Excellent collaborative and communication skills, including stakeholder vetting and concise updates.
* Ambition to take initiative and ownership of projects, rather than a preference for tightly controlled processes.
Technology Stack
TypeScript (frontend & backend), React, GraphQL API, Node.js, Postgres, Redis.
Benefits
* Competitive salary and equity.
* 10‑year exercise window for stock options.
* Unlimited paid time off.
* Minimum 12 weeks fully paid parental leave.
* Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.
* $100 per month education budget.
* Full coverage health insurance for US employees and covered supplemental insurance in other regions.
