Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Following on from the success of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C (HPC), the Sizewell C Project (SZC) in Suffolk is the UK’s next nuclear power new build project. The project has obtained planning approval and has started construction works. It has recently achieved Financial Investment Decision (FID) meaning that all the funding for the full lifespan of the project is now secured and in place guaranteeing the full delivery of this new nuclear power station. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050. We’re now looking for a Project Manager for our NI (Nuclear Island) program to play a pivotal part in driving this groundbreaking development forward. You’ll help shape plant designs, finalise construction strategies, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders - all while contributing directly to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. You will be integral to an international delivery team, working with a diverse global supply chain to bring innovative engineering solutions to life and secure key consents and licences. Responsibilities As Project Manager for NI you will establish and lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of defined nuclear island electrical equipment packages, from design through procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning. The role will focus on technically complex electrical equipment and systems, including electrical penetrations, uninterruptible power supply, batteries and switchboards, ensuring delivery in line with nuclear safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements. You will manage key supplier contracts across Europe, coordinate technical, commercial, and schedule interfaces with other Nuclear Island, MEH, and Conventional Island teams, and support governance, risk, and change control activities. As the project progresses, there will be opportunities to broaden scope into larger integrated packages or programme‑level leadership across Sizewell C. The role includes international travel, with regular visits to our European suppliers to build relationships, collaborate, and oversee progress. Who You Are We’re seeking a proactive project professional with strong experience in strategic project management and major project delivery - ideally involving electrical systems. You’ll have the technical confidence to translate complex engineering concepts for various audiences and bring proven expertise in design delivery, contract execution, cost management, and risk control. Familiarity with Earned Value tools and managing commercial claims is important. This role offers genuine long‑term career development, with opportunities to progress into senior leadership positions within the nuclear island programme or other major delivery programmes across Sizewell C. Essential Skills and Experience: Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design and procurement teams, ensuring delivery milestones are met. Background in electrical engineering—preferably within large industrial plant environments. Strong understanding of major project complexities, including cross‑functional interface management. Significant experience leading pre‑tender and tender activities for the design, manufacturing, and/or installation of industrial equipment. Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with both clients and contractors. Desirable: Experience in the nuclear sector or in procuring equipment/installation contracts for nuclear power stations is desirable. Chartered Engineer qualification. Formal project management qualification.
