Job Title: Senior AI Technical Architect (Azure Cognitive Services)Location: HybridDuration: 6-12 month initial contract with potential extension
About the RoleOne of Loriens leading Public Sector Clients are embarking on a pioneering programme to enhance document intelligence, search, and multilingual transcription capabilities using Microsoft Azure's Cognitive Services. We're seeking a hands-on Senior AI Technical Architect who brings deep technical expertise across Python, C#, React, and the Azure AI ecosystem to lead the design and delivery of several proof-of-concept (PoC) projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Architect, design, and implement scalable AI solutions using Azure AI Services, including:
o Azure AI Document Intelligence
o Azure AI Speech (speech-to-text, text-to-speech, speaker recognition)
o Azure AI Translator
o Azure AI Search
* Lead technical PoCs for:
o Multilingual speech transcription and translation
o Intelligent document parsing and metadata extraction
o Cognitive search across structured and unstructured documents
* Collaborate closely with product owners, analysts, and data governance stakeholders
* Set architecture patterns, API contracts, and integration approaches with existing systems
* Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across the AI portfolio
* Ensure compliance with accessibility, legal and ethical AI standards in public sector settings
Technical RequirementsEssential:
* Proven track record designing AI/ML solutions with Azure Cognitive Services
* Strong hands-on experience in:
o Python (data workflows, Azure SDKs)
o C#/.NET (integration with enterprise systems)
o React (frontend POC/demo apps)
* Deep understanding of:
o RESTful API design & consumption
o Azure AI service orchestration & pipelines
o Cognitive Search (keyword, semantic & hybrid modes)
o OCR, key-value pair extraction, and document layout analysis
* Experience building or deploying:
o Speech transcription pipelines
o Document intelligence models
o Multilingual translation solutions
Desirable:
* Familiarity with:
o Azure OpenAI Service
o Azure Content Safety and governance policies
o Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
* Knowledge of court or legal systems (highly advantageous but not essential)

* Comfortable leading architectural discussions and hands-on delivery
