Lead Domestic Gas Engineer
Salary: £56,000 per annum £8,000 on call pay van and fuel card
Swindon (within 45-minute radius)
We are working with a specialist contractor to recruit an experienced Lead Domestic Gas Engineer to cover Oxford and the surrounding areas. There will be occasional travel to head office in Gloucester.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary, structured on-call payments, company van and fuel card, and ongoing training and development opportunities.
This role would suit a highly experienced Domestic Gas Engineer with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills who can lead by example, uphold high health and safety standards, and deliver excellent customer service within occupied domestic properties.
The Role
1. Reactive maintenance and fault-finding
2. Servicing, annual gas safety checks, and breakdown repairs
3. Minor works and component replacements
4. KPI-driven response times
5. Participation in on-call rota (additional £6,000 per annum)
6. Occasional flexibility for high-priority no-heat/no-hot-water calls
7. Monday–Friday 08:00–17:00 core hours (overtime available)

Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)
18. Full, clean UK driving licence
19. Gas Safe Registered – CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1
20. Strong domestic servicing, repair and breakdown experience
21. Experience working in occupied properties
22. High standards of health & safety compliance and understanding of current gas regulations
23. Excellent communication and customer service skills
24. Ability to clearly explain faults and remedial works to customers
25. Comfortable using mobile job management systems
26. Able to work independently and support junior engineers where required
Desirable:
27. Unvented Hot Water (G3)
28. LPG and/or Oil qualifications
29. MOD, social housing or local authority experience
30. Ex-Forces background welcomed
A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be travelling to domestic properties across Oxford and surrounding postcodes using a company vehicle.
