The Opportunity


Join our General Accounting team within the Shared Service Centre (SSC), supporting Arup’s global operations across UKIMEA, the Americas and Europe. In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, delivering high-quality accounting, reconciliation and reporting services that underpin strong financial control and compliance.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including Treasury, Tax, Payroll and International Mobility, you’ll contribute to efficient and consistent finance processes across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform bank reconciliations, payment processing and daily cash management
2. Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity, including accruals and prepayments
3. Manage intercompany accounting, including invoicing and reconciliations
4. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and disposals
5. Support employee-related accounting, including international mobility balances
6. Assist with VAT, tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements
7. Provide audit support and respond to internal and external queries
8. Contribute to ad hoc activities, including vendor master data, joint ventures and P&L reconciliations

9. Demonstrable accounting experience within a general ledger or bookkeeping environment
10. Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
11. Proven ability to work accurately to deadlines in a fast-paced, service-driven environment
12. Collaborative team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
13. Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement
