About The Role Contract: Fixed Term until 30/04/2027 Salary: £49,764 - £54,181 Hours: 37 Location: Hereford Closing Date: 23/05/2025 We have an exciting opportunity for a major transport infrastructure senior project manager to join and help lead Herefordshire’s Infrastructure Delivery Team. Forming part of the Economy and Environment depart, the Infrastructure Delivery Team is a multi-skilled engineering, design and project management team focused on the delivery of highways and transport projects. You will be responsible for helping to develop and manage a small team of highway engineers and project managers to drive the efficient and effective delivery of capital projects. You will also be the senior project manager for the development and delivery of the Hereford Western Bypass. It’s an exciting time to join Hereford in this role as phase one of the scheme, a £35m link road, is about to enter into a delivery phase but you will also be responsible for guiding consultants as they develop phase two (£300m) scheme, seeking government funding and planning permissions. The successful applicant will be educated to degree level preferrable in civil engineering and/or be a chartered engineer with significant experience in the development and delivery of major transport infrastructure. You must have demonstratable achievements in public sector development, design, procurement and delivery of highway projects.
