This post is offered on a fulltime (10 PA) basis for a 12 month fixed period on a Locum contract, althoughless than full time applications will be considered. Duties will be basedprimarily on our Wakefield (Pinderfields) site although all our medical staff areinvolved in delivering care on all our sites.

With recruitment tothese posts the acute rota will become shared amongst 16 colleagues and attract There are plans to further expand our consultant workforce in thefuture and thereby bringing down the emergency work commitments and increasingthe potential for delivering more elective activities.

Qualifications
Essential
1. Medical Degree from recognised medical school
2. FRCS (General Surgery) or equivalent
Desirable
3. Higher Degree/Diploma
4. Medical School Prizes
5. Audit or Case Presentations
6. Teaching qualification/ prize
GMC Registration
Essential
7. Please state full GMC number
8. Full GMC Registration with licence to practise
9. Inclusion on the GMC Specialist
Desirable
10. Register for General Surgery or within 6 months of obtaining CCT (or CESR / equivalent)
Experience

11. Sufficient experience in General Surgery and to achieve CCT or equivalent
12. Wide experience in Emergency General Surgery
13. Computer literate

14. Specific educational interests and evidence of educational ideas or project work.
15. Experience in teaching surgical skills and medical students
16. Experience in paediatric surgery
