The role
The Product Development team plays a pivotal role in delivering the overall digital experience for customers, consumers and colleagues underpinning the Rightmove business. We recognise that to deliver the best products and features for our consumers, customers and colleagues we need to work effectively as a healthy, high performing team. We work collaboratively across a mix of product and centralised teams, together working towards Rightmove’s strategy.
The Application Analyst role sits within one of our Internal Product Teams providing digital solutions to Rightmove’s internal teams. The role is an important part of one of our SCRUM product teams working with the Product Owner, Software and QA Engineers within the team to analyse business problems, design and deliver technical solutions. The Application Analyst will deliver technical solutions through configuration of business applications (either third party or developed by Rightmove) and low‑code solutions to meet Rightmove’s users’ and business needs.
The Application Analyst role reports to the Business Systems Manager and works closely with other application and platform engineers, Product Owners, Architects and Operations team members.
A typical week as an Application Analyst might involve:
* Building practical solutions using low‑code platforms, including applications, workflows and automations.
* Using SQL to query, analyse and support changes to data across CompanyA’s business applications.
* Using platforms such as UiPath to automate manual or repetitive processes across the organisation.
* Working closely with Rightmove’s teams to understand their challenges, identify opportunities, and explore where technology can help deliver better outcomes.
* Collaborating with Product Owners, Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers to understand business problems and agree the best approach to solving them.
* Sharing progress regularly with your product team and end users, using feedback to shape and improve the solution as it develops.
* Supporting testing activity across the team, including validating changes, helping meet sprint commitments and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.
We’re looking for someone who:
* Is a creative and logical problem‑solver, with a genuine interest in using technology to solve business problems.
* Is curious and keen to build confidence with new technologies, tools and ways of working.
* Can ask clear, thoughtful questions to get to the heart of what is needed.
* Enjoys working collaboratively with their team to explore, challenge and improve potential solutions.
* Is comfortable constructively questioning direction when something is unclear or does not feel right, including in areas they are still learning.
* Takes ownership of their work and cares about the quality of what they and their team deliver.
* Asks for support when needed and learns from the experience of those around them.
* Shares knowledge and skills with others, both within and beyond their immediate team.
* Can manage and prioritise their work effectively, balancing urgency with quality.
We’re looking for someone who has:
* Intermediate to advanced skills in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, or similar business applications.
* Experience learning how software platforms work and using that knowledge to configure, improve or support business processes.
* A working understanding of SQL, including querying, interpreting and working with data.
* A track record of learning new technologies and applying them to solve practical problems.
We would love to find someone who:
* Experience improving internal processes, systems or ways of working.
* An understanding of BPMN or similar process‑mapping approaches, with the ability to design clear and efficient workflows.
* Experience building or configuring low‑code solutions in platforms such as AppSmith, Power Apps, Retool, or similar.
* Experience automating manual tasks using tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism.
* Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Confluence, Jira, or similar.
* Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team.
