We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Research Finance Officer to join our dedicated Research Finance team. Based within the University’s Finance department, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the financial management of externally funded research projects across two diverse and innovative faculties — Science, Agriculture & Engineering (SAgE) and Medical Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of cutting-edge research, collaborating with academics and professional services colleagues to ensure projects are financially sound, compliant, and delivered successfully. What you’ll do Provide expert advice and support on post-award financial management, ensuring compliance with University policies and funder requirements Help implement and maintain effective post-award finance processes and reporting at School and Institute level Support academics and research teams by monitoring budgets, preparing accurate financial reports and advising on financial best practice Work closely with colleagues across Finance and Research teams to deliver a flexible, proactive service that supports world-class research Share your financial expertise and contribute to improving understanding of research finance across the University We’re looking for someone who: Has experience providing financial support and project accounting in a large, complex organisation Communicates confidently and clearly, with excellent numeracy, IT and reporting skills Is proactive, organised and adaptable, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality service Works collaboratively and enjoys building relationships across teams and departments How to apply If you’re ready to take your finance skills to the next level and support world-leading research, we’d love to hear from you.
