We would welcome an applicant to join and work with the Pre-assessment Department within the admin service. This post will be working alongside the current Outpatient Coordinator/Receptionist to provide first point of contact for patients attending the department.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the pre-assessment service, ensuring reception area is manned at all times. The role involves welcoming patients, carers, relatives and visitors into the department by acting as the first point of contact for patients attending the pre-assessment service.
The post holder will undertake timely validation of patients’ key demographics and information, accurately record the outcome of the appointment, answer the phone and deal with all enquiries.
Utilisation of all the relevant IT applications required for the post.
This role is vital to support patient safety.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:
* Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £6.50 = £28.00 (deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment).
* Enhanced Check: £49.50 + Administration cost of £6.50 = £56.00 (deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment).

Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Requirements of the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Access to Health Records and Defensible Documentation, Health and Safety and their application in the workplace.
* Equality issues.
* Operating word processing and computer packages.
* Audio typing / word processing.
* Medical terminology.
* Microsoft Office.
* PAS.
* Medical audio typing / word processing.
* Experience can be considered as comparable to qualifications quoted but should be clearly detailed on the application to demonstrate equivalence.
