Overview
To provide paediatric and neonatal care and this includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the department.

Responsibilities
* Responsible for covering colleagues\' periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
* Clinical supervision of junior medical staff as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
* Responsible for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to Continuing Medical Education and clinical governance initiatives.
* General paediatrics on call (including the level 2 neonatal unit) is a requirement of the post.
* A key component of this job is also to develop the paediatric asthma service; applicants with an interest in asthma (ideally having completed Respiratory SPIN module of the RCPCH) are encouraged to apply.

Post Details
This is a full time 12 month maternity cover post to ensure the acute Paediatric department at Croydon University Hospital continues to deliver excellent high quality, patient centred, and responsive care.
Qualifications
* Applications will also be considered from individuals with a CCT (or within 6 months of CCT date at the time of interview) or with a Certificate of Equivalence of Specialist Registration (CESR).
