Job Overview
We are seeking two compassionate and dedicated Night Carers for 2 x 2, 11 hour night shifts or we would consider 1 x4, 11 hour night shifts, these posts would want to progress to Team Leaders, once the three month probation is complete, giving you time to get to know our residents and Inglewood. We would want you to provide high-quality care for our residents during overnight hours. The ideal candidate(s) will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of individuals in a care home or assisted living environment. This role requires a caring nature, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle medical and behavioural needs with professionalism and empathy.
Responsibilities
* Monitor residents' health and safety throughout the night, responding promptly to any emergencies or alarms
* Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and hygiene as required
* Administer medication in accordance with prescribed care plans and record all medication administration accurately
* Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a calm and reassuring environment
* Document observations, incidents, and any changes in residents' conditions in detailed reports
* Support residents with meal preparation and feeding if necessary, ensuring dietary requirements are met
* Manage behaviour issues with patience and appropriate behaviour management techniques
* Assist with light housekeeping duties related to residents' rooms and communal areas
* Collaborate with nursing staff and case managers to ensure continuity of care during the night shift
* Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including infection control measures such as first aid procedures when needed
Experience
* Previous experience working in a care home, nursing home, or home care setting is highly desirable
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care is advantageous
* Experience with medication administration and understanding of medical terminology is preferred
* Familiarity with creating or following care plans and case management practices is beneficial
* Certification in first aid is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
* Candidates should possess excellent caregiving skills, patience, empathy, and the ability to handle heavy lifting safely when required.

Night shifts operate with a 2 person team for 11 hours, to include weekend work and cover for annual leave.
Inglewood is located adjacent to Lyme Park in Disley. We provide residential, dementia and day care for up to 22 residents. It is a small family owned and managed home. We believe in providing high quality care which means promoting dignity and interacting with respect. Delivering this relies on the quality of our people, and we are looking for a Night Carer to become a valuable member of the team, to then progress to Team Leader after passing a 3 month probation, giving you time to get to know our residents and Inglewood.

As a Night Carer you will look after the day-to-day needs of our residents, whilst showing compassion, care and commitment to having a positive impact on their lives. You will work with a team of Carers and other staff to ensure that our residents are comfortable in their home. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the shift, medications and relevant reports. You will encourage your colleagues to perform their role to the best of their ability ensuring residents' and staff wellbeing.
Experience in care is essential. Full training on administering medications will be provided. Equally as important is a caring nature, enthusiasm and initiative.
