We're looking for a Social Value Manager to join our Scottish Construction business. This role is key to delivering meaningful social value across regional projects, working effectively with site teams, preconstruction teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
Location: Stepps, Glasgow, Scotland
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility considered if required.
What will you be responsible for?
The Social Value Manager will oversee social value delivery across the region, ensuring the social value team operates effectively and managing all related risks.
Core duties may include, but are not limited to:
Collaborating with the sustainability team to implement the local construction sustainability strategy and support the wider Kier Building for a Sustainable World strategy.
Delivering programmes across the region, leading events and initiatives.
Leading the regional social value team, chairing meetings, allocating resources, and being accountable for targets and reporting.
Supporting strategic regional work winning and contributing to national efforts.
Driving engagement with supply chain partners on social value initiatives.
Assisting Social Value Advisors in creating plans, delivering on-site social value, and preparing tender responses.
Managing communication and marketing related to social value.
Providing BU KPIs to construction centres, ensuring targets are met and risks mitigated.
Participating in Social Impact Leadership Team meetings.
Owning at least one subject as an SME and creating resources like templates, case studies, and educational materials.
Engaging as a STEM Ambassador, volunteering, and training others.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal if you can demonstrate:
Expertise as a Social Value champion, advising stakeholders on community issues.
Knowledge of the Social Value Act, local authority drivers, and relevant frameworks.
Strong communication skills across all levels.
Organised, systematic, and adaptable to change.
Ability to develop strategy and deliver effectively, managing workload and pivoting as needed.
Ability to build alliances inside and outside the business.
Experience in managing projects and events.
Understanding of the construction/built environment industry is an advantage.
Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel across Scotland.
