Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Emergency Nurse to provide expert clinical and managerial leadership in the Emergency Department as a Band 7 Team Leader.
Responsibilities
* Work clinically in all areas of the department, including Resus, assessment, and as Nurse in Charge, as well as managing a team of nurses.
* Participate in research, audit and service development as part of the senior nursing team in the department.
* Have overall responsibility for the operational activity on the shift, including proactive management of issues to support performance of the ED 4-hour operational standard.
* Act as the professional role model, leading and coordinating the nursing team.
* Have shift responsibility for the management and organisation of the ward/department within the available resources.
* Be accountable for the overall provision of excellent nursing care and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
* Uphold the Trust values while maintaining high quality, safe emergency nursing care and lead the day-to-day running of the department with leadership and clinical expertise.
* Support the management of safety and patient flow in the department and help achieve government targets and key performance indicators.
About the Trust
The Trust is one of the four designated Major Trauma Centres in London, with a helipad providing direct access to the ED for the most seriously injured patients. St George’s, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Sites include St George’s Hospital (major trauma centre and teaching hospital), St Helier Hospital, and Epsom Hospital (home to SWLEOC).
Notes
After years of collaboration, the two Trusts became a hospitals group in 2021. The group supports closer collaboration on research, development, education and training of the 17,000-strong workforce.
