You will be a member of multi-skilled estates team with the primary role of optimising the quality and condition of our properties to ensure buildings are kept in a safe condition. You'll be maintaining a high level of quality across our sites, with expertise in the safe use of hand tools such as power drills, pliers, paper strippers and a variety of other tools used in plumbing and carpentry.

With your excellent understanding of building mechanisms including electrical, plumbing, plant safety systems and equipment, you'll be providing first and immediate response to fault finding, whilst maximizing quality and cost effectiveness whilst ensuring prevention of major damage.

If this sounds like you, come and join our friendly and supportive Estates Team to ensure our sites are clean, safe and well maintained for everyone.

This role requires participation in a 24/7 on call rota currently 1 week in every 6. Overtime rates will be paid for call outs during this period in addition to an on-call allowance of 4.5% of your salary per annum/pro rata.

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.


Main duties of the job

* Carry out repairs to the fabric of a building, for example repairs to walls, doors, door frames, skirting boards or plaster damage to internal walls
* Understand and maintain plumbing and drainage systems, for example repairs to WC systems, leaking taps or water testing and unblocking drains
* Carry out decorating and painting (internal and external)
* Maintain grounds and external fabrication of a building, such as drainage and guttering
* Perform maintenance and light repairs
* Putting up notice boards and shelving
* Undertake light installation or basic carpentry works

* Level 3 qualification in carpentry, plumbing or electrical and/or equivalent relevant experience carrying out maintenance in a hospital or construction environment

* Undertaken Basic Plumbing, Carpentry, Decoration or Electrical Course or Qualification
