Your future duties and responsibilities
1. You will maintain an up-to-date view of sector requirements and be actively engaged in developing these with clients through to project delivery.
2. Maintain domain expertise that bridges the business needs, data considerations, and existing IT solutions, including emerging innovations such as the Strategic Innovation Funding, Network Innovation Allowance, and Competition programmes.
3. Deliver an open and pragmatic approach to specifying IT solutions to meet business requirements, working comfortably with clients at all levels, including senior management.
4. Approach new and existing clients to identify business needs where CGI solutions can improve performance across various metrics.
5. Apply domain knowledge and experience to ensure IT initiatives align closely with business expectations and desired outcomes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
1. Knowledge and experience of the UK Electricity Distribution industry sector, gained in an innovation, main business, or IT/OT role.
2. Experience with electricity distribution or DNO IT, and/or smart grid projects. Qualified electrical engineer, ideally network company trained and authorised, or IT professionals with DNO delivery experience.
3. Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, network topology, and connectivity represented in systems like NMS, GIS, and EAM is advantageous.
4. Hands-on project delivery experience, from elicitation or innovation to business as usual.
5. Experience with Data Governance, Master Data Management, IEC standards, and network modelling tools.
6. Familiarity with Network Operator ICT landscape, including core systems and planning applications.
7. Awareness of UK smart grid programmes and digital transformation initiatives.
8. Network planning experience, with tooling such as DigSilent PowerFactory or DPlan, is highly desirable.
