The Department
The Business Development team drives activities which generate revenue, working closely with our Client Excos to grow client relationships and enhance market positioning for the firm in its chosen global practices and markets. This is delivered through an integrated communications, marketing, and business and client development function.
The range of work carried out by the team spans helping the firm win work through both engaging with clients directly, and supporting lawyers to do so; delivering compelling pitches to secure instructions and retain panel places; developing digital media strategies and flagship campaigns which support brand positioning and sales efforts; and managing internal and external communications to ensure our firm’s message is consistent and impactful.
The Team
The Business Development Operations Executive is responsible for supporting the Business Development Operations Manager in delivering the management, standardisation, quality and strategic development of the Business Development and Marketing function globally.
Location
Candidates will be considered in any of our UK offices, but you will need to be able to easily access our London or Manchester office when required.
The Role
* The role will be integral to maintaining the operations process support tools for the BD, Marketing and Comms department. The candidate will be a first point of contact for operations queries and will be responsible for maintaining selected databases and information sites.
* Activities will include creating and maintaining excel trackers, SharePoint sites, process guides, issuing surveys and presenting results.
* A key component of the role is the management of the legal directories cycle, which involves maintaining deadline calendars, templates and reference guides, issuing briefings and kick‑off packs, answering queries on the process and communicating results.
* There will be the opportunity for involvement in varied projects to support the operational development and improvement of the department.
Essential Skills And Experience
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
* Experience in using common intranet or website platforms, such as Sharepoint, is preferrable
* Ability to manage end to end processes autonomously
* Experience of legal directories or awards submissions processes preferred
* Involvement in preparation of presentations and reports
* Possesses a proactive, can do attitude who likes to add value to any task they are asked to implement
* Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects, manage expectations of stakeholders and meet tight deadlines.
* Be able to build relationships with key stakeholders within the firm including global BD team, marketing, communications, and partner groups
