We are looking for an experienced Electrically Biased Overhead Crane Service Engineer to join a highly skilled specialist engineering team operating across major industrial sites throughout the South East.

The position offers a varied and technically rewarding workload covering maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, repair, upgrades, and installation of overhead and gantry cranes, with a strong focus on electrical systems, drives, and industrial controls.

What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Service and maintain overhead and gantry cranes
2. Electrical & mechanical fault finding on 3-phase systems
3. Repair motors, controls, brakes, and safety systems
4. Work on pendant and radio control systems
5. Install and commission crane equipment and upgrades
6. Carry out LOLER inspections and safety checks
7. Respond to breakdowns across industrial sites
8. Complete accurate service reports
Overtime & Pay Structure
9. Paid travel time (home to site and return) at single time
10. Overtime before 08:00 & after 16:30: 1.5x Hourly
11. Saturday: 1.5x Hourly
12. Sunday: 2x Hourly
What We’re Looking For:
13. Experienced crane, lifting equipment, or industrial electrical engineer
14. Strong fault-finding ability (3-phase / control systems)
15. Mechanical understanding of industrial equipment
16. Confident working independently in the field
17. Full UK driving licence
18. Strong discipline, reliability, and attention to detail
19. Ex-military personnel strongly encouraged to apply
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
20. NVQ / City & Guilds in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
21. Knowledge of LOLER / PUWER regulations
22. Experience with PLC systems and fault diagnosis
23. LEEA or equivalent lifting equipment certification
