RG Consultancy are working with a company based in Bolton who are looking to add a proactive and detail-driven Assistant Accountant to their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who's ready to take ownership of key accounting duties and support the wider finance function in a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
* Accruals, prepayments, and journal postings
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Maintain the fixed asset register
* VAT returns and compliance support
* Support year-end processes and liaise with auditors
* Provide insight and reporting to help with financial decision-making
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Ideal Candidate:
* Minimum 2-3 years experience in a similar role
* AAT qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)
* Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, Xero, or similar)
* Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
* Proactive attitude and a team player
