Job Title: Test Engineer (SC Cleared) Location: Hybrid/Malvern Duration: 6 months with possible extension Rate: Up to £660 per day via an approved umbrella company Must be willing and eligible to go through the SC Clearance process Our client, a leading organisation supporting the Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme (ESMCP), is hiring for a Test Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vital project upgrading UK emergency communications to 4G/5G-based Push-To-Talk (PTT) Mission Critical Communications (MCX). What youll be doing: * Develop and produce Test Specification, Test Procedure, and Test Report documents for mobile devices, applications, and accessories. * Specify, write, and execute tests, focusing on certifying that new devices and applications do not impair MCX capability. * Automate testing processes using tools like National Instruments Test Stand. * Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including prime contractors and subcontractors. * Support testing at QinetiQs Malvern facility and remotely, with occasional site visits to Malvern. What youll bring: * Proven experience in testing and acceptance of software and systems. * Strong understanding of mobile device OS testing, particularly Android, and mobile applications. * Hands-on experience with automation tools such as National Instruments Test Stand. * Excellent communication skills for engaging with diverse teams. * Knowledge of security best practices related to mobile and software testing. * Ability to produce clear, concise technical documentation.
