Building Surveying Manager
Permanent | Hybrid | up to £47,181 per annum
Are you an experienced Building Surveyor ready to take the next step into a leadership role? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking local authority housing service and lead the delivery of high-quality maintenance and improvement projects that make a real difference to residents.
Key Duties
🔹 Lead a professional team of Chartered Surveyors and Technical Officers
🔹 Oversee responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and capital improvement projects
🔹 Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and building regulations
🔹 Manage significant budgets and procurement activity for housing projects
🔹 Provide technical leadership and strategic input into housing policy and service development
🔹 Build strong relationships with internal teams, councillors, contractors and residents
You’ll play a key role in ensuring housing assets are well maintained, safe, and improved in line with modern standards and customer expectations.
About You
🔹 Strong project management and team leadership skills
🔹 A detailed understanding of current building, gas, electrical, and health & safety legislation
🔹 Experience managing large-scale housing or public sector maintenance programmes
🔹 Qualification in Building Services or membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, CABE)
