The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technology Operations Manager to join our Technology and Broadcast Division, working within the Technology team.
In this senior role, you will play a central part in ensuring that technology solutions are integrated, resilient and fully operational to support the successful delivery of the Commonwealth Games. Reporting to the Head of Technology Operations, you will provide cross-functional oversight and coordination across Results Technology Services, Venue Technology Services and Games Digital Services, helping to ensure joined‑up planning and delivery across the Technology Department.
You will act as a key escalation and problem‑solving point within Technology, supporting functional leads, suppliers and delivery partners to resolve issues, manage interdependencies and maintain momentum in a complex, fast‑paced environment. The role will also involve deputising for the Head of Technology Operations as required, providing leadership and continuity across critical planning and delivery activities.

Job Summary
Working as part of a highly collaborative Technology team, you will support integrated planning and cross-functional delivery across the Technology Department, ensuring alignment between functional areas, suppliers and partners.
As Senior Technology Operations Manager, you will provide coordination and oversight across Results Technology Services, Venue Technology Services and Games Digital Services, helping to identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies that cut across multiple workstreams. You will act as a primary escalation point for Technology‑related issues, resolving challenges where possible and escalating appropriately where required.
The role includes leading selected central activities that span functional boundaries, such as Games‑time workforce planning, sport‑specific audio‑visual solutions and sustainability initiatives, as well as other Organising Company priority themes. You will support change management activity across Technology, working with functional areas to assess impacts and implement agreed changes in a controlled and coordinated way.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Organising Company, delivery partners, suppliers and contractors, participating in project meetings, working groups and steering forums as required. You will also support the Technology and Broadcast Programme Manager in the design and implementation of a Technology Readiness Strategy, and contribute to the design, setup and operational planning of the Technology Operations Centre.
A key part of the role will involve identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, strengthening the effectiveness, efficiency and resilience of the Technology Department. You will contribute to the onboarding and integration of new Technology staff, helping to foster a consistent, inclusive and collaborative team culture.
Key Skills And Experience
This role is suited to someone with experience working on major sporting events or comparable large‑scale, complex programmes, who is comfortable operating at pace in high‑pressure environments. You will bring strong project management capability, with experience managing multiple workstreams and competing priorities, and the ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining control of critical details.
You will have a proven ability to engage, influence and build trust with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, suppliers and delivery partners. Strong leadership capability is essential, along with experience supporting, motivating and coordinating high‑performing teams.
You will be confident translating complex technical concepts into clear, accessible business language, and bring excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be highly organised, resilient and adaptable, with strong analytical and decision‑making skills and a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
You will be collaborative by nature, comfortable operating within evolving structures and delivery models, and motivated by Glasgow 2026’s ambition to deliver an inclusive, community‑first and low‑carbon Games.
