Job Description:
The purpose of this vacancy is to drive new business growth and profitability in the Retail and E-Commerce sector. The role involves direct selling and developing existing accounts both in the UK and internationally. As Head of Business Development, you will ensure a competitive advantage through robust commercial arrangements.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Prospect, hunt, and develop targets through to tender and business wins to meet or exceed targets.
2. Support the development of the sector growth strategy, identifying key segments and target customers.
3. Assist in creating and evolving the marketing plan, including social media, events, and industry engagement.
4. Act as an ambassador for the business in social media, podcasts, blogs, videos, and posts to enhance brand awareness.
5. Participate in and drive sector events to generate leads and ensure ROI.
6. Lead and coordinate effective tender responses, ensuring solutions meet customer needs within accepted parameters.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with Retail and E-Commerce clients to secure inclusion in tenders and opportunities.
Capabilities/Competencies:
1. Proven sales expertise in Retail and E-Commerce, with 10+ years in supply chain solutions.
2. Ability to sell Circular Economy solutions that meet sustainability targets.
3. Deep sector understanding and consultative selling skills.
4. Strong leadership with clear objectives.
5. Effective within a matrix structure, influencing without direct authority.
6. Adaptable, employing consultative or directive styles as needed.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
