Project Support Officer – Medicines Advice and Guidance

Join our dedicated Medicines Advice and Guidance team and play a key role in delivering an effective and efficient administration service to support the new governance processes for Patient Group Directions (PGDs). PGDs support the safe and effective use of medicines in a number of different clinical specialties across NHS Lothian.
About your role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated administrator to join the Medicines Advice and Guidance team. In this temporary post you will play a role in ensuring safe and effective use of medicines in PGDs. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive and efficient administrative services to support the new processes that are being developed to support PGD use.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Delivering direct administrative assistance to support PGD use.
* Managing a range of administrative activities including but not limited to:
o scheduling meetings and preparing papers
o Updating PGD templates and keeping version control up to date
o Liaising with clinical teams regarding PGD revisions
o Updating the intranet pages for PGDs
* Contributing to the embedding of new administrative processes supporting the governance of PGDs.

About you
We are looking for someone with:
* SCQF level 8 e.g., HND level qualification in business administration/other relevant subject OR equivalent level of experience in a similar administrative role.
* Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) at minimum of intermediate level.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of intranet/internet editing software
* Alignment with NHS Lothian’s values and a willingness to contribute to our dynamic team.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record.
