As a graduate engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers on and off-site to develop skills and independence while working on the design and analysis of engineering projects. You will be involved in the technical aspects of engineering projects, supporting the preparation of designs, calculations, and reports. This role will provide opportunities for involvement and skill development in client liaison and project management, encompassing both time and budget management.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ICE or IStructE-accredited course.
A 2:1 (or equivalent) degree classification or above.
Demonstrate commitment to undertake continuous professional development towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English). Ability to work effectively with the Microsoft suite of programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Knowledge in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software, and AutoCAD.
Strong attention to detail and ability to comply with Quality Assurance Management Systems.
Minimum of 2 years internship or project experience in bridge and structural engineering.
Aptitude to work on your own initiative, be proactive and take responsibility.
Initiative, a flexible approach, and the ability to multitask and prioritise.
Highly motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Enthusiastic, hardworking and a positive outlook with an approachable manner.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt.
Operate in a fast‑paced and dynamic multi‑tasking environment.
A full, clean driving licence would be an advantage.
Familiarity with Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Bentley (MicroStation) software.
Due to the nature of this role, site work, overnight or weekend work may be required.
