Responsibilities as our Progression Advisor will include:
* Conduct a weekly caseload of admissions interviews, including regular twilight and occasional weekend interviewing.
* Liaise as necessary with other college staff and teams about the requirements of individual
* applicants.
* Represent the College at careers events, giving admissions advice to potential students and their parents.
* Deliver presentations and activities as required as part of the schools liaison team to promote the College and its course offer to prospective students, as agreed with the Head of School Liaison, Transition and Progression.
* Give individual and group guided tours of the College campus as required.
* Assist with the organisation and delivery of Freshers’ Day, Enrolment and visits of school parties to the College.
* Attend all College Open Events to offer general admissions advice and to assist with guiding
* potential applicants and their families around the campus.
* Assist in the delivery of advice and guidance to individuals and groups of current students as agreed with the Head of Admissions.
* Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the College’s curriculum offer, liaising with Assistant Principals, Directors of Faculty, Curriculum Leaders and teaching staff as necessary.
* Provide advice and guidance support during Freshers’ Day and Enrolment.
* Support with the delivery and provision of support, advice and guidance during the induction period as applicable. This may include amendments to students’ programmes, delivery of key messages and information relating to the College, timetables and curriculum provision.
* Provide progression support for students at the College.
* Support and offer robust guidance through the progression process.
* Develop knowledge of progression routes into employment and higher education both
* locally and nationally.
* Complete a caseload of UCAS applications, checking applications, references and personal statements before they are sent to UCAS.
* Support the delivery of the Next Steps programme as required.
As our Progression Advisor, you’ll ideally have:
* A degree or equivalent qualification
* Experience of working in a large, complex organisation
* Proven ability to work with parents/guardians in supporting young people
* Knowledge of the further education sector
* Proficient in using IT systems
* The ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal form, to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders
* An enthusiastic outlook and ability to engage young people
* The ability to work to deadlines
* An adaptable, flexible, and positive approach to work
* Proven organisation skills.
* Driving licence and use of own vehicle
