Hourly Paid EFL Teacher

The ideal Teacher:
1. Local to Cambridge
2. Has a Bachelor’s degree as minimum
3. Is CELTA certified or equivalent/120 Hour TEFL Cert
4. Has excellent communication skills
5. Demonstrates a passion for teaching and inspires students to learn
6. Is sensitive to needs of international students
7. Demonstrates a high level of customer service
8. Has strong administrative and organisational skills
To be successful in this job:
9. You will plan and deliver General English and Special Interest (SPIN) courses as directed by the DOS or ADOS
10. You will plan and deliver lectures on a rota basis
11. You will choose appropriate supplementary material and topics for your classes. These must at all times demonstrate sensitivity to the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic student population in EF schools
12. You will cover absent colleagues as requested by the DOS or ADOS
13. You will participate in peer observation programmes
14. You will attend and contribute to staff meetings (weekly)
15. You will attend and contribute to all school staff meetings (three times per year minimum) which may take place after school hours
16. You will actively participate in CPD sessions (to be held regularly – at least monthly)
17. You will hold tutorials with students every 4 weeks
18. You will input grades for students
19. You will write student reports when required
20. You will administer tests to the class when necessary and to mark them and return all documents to DOS or ADOS
21. You will be jointly responsible for the tidiness of the communal areas and specifically the staff room
22. You will be an ambassador for EF and its products, methods and materials
23. You will maintain necessary paperwork as directed by the school administration and carry out administrative duties accordingly
24. You will maintain accurate electronic registers and input student attendance daily into the EF database in accordance with EF policy
25. You will report any student who is absent from class for 2 consecutive days to the Academic Department and when they return, in accordance with EF policy
26. You will comply with all health and safety regulations as directed by the Health and Safety Officer
