Overview

Are you a passionate and dedicated neonatal nurse? Are you looking for a challenging career move where you can make a difference? We are recruiting Band 6 Neonatal Nurses with 'QIS'. Neonatal Services at UHMBT are provided from Royal Lancaster Infirmary and Furness General Hospital sites and are part of the North West Neonatal Operational Delivery Network. The Neonatal Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) is a level 2 unit with 1 intensive care cot, 2 High Dependency cots and 7 Special Care cots. We provide care to babies and their families from 27 weeks gestation but also provide stabilisation for critically ill babies/babies born below 27 weeks in preparation for transfer by the regional transport team. We have a well developed transitional care service which enables special care babies and their mothers to stay together on the maternity unit when requiring some additional support. The Special Care Baby Unit at Furness General Hospital is integrated into the South Lakes Birth Centre and has a cot capacity of 4. They provide care to babies and their families from 32 weeks gestation but also provide stabilisation for critically ill babies/babies born below 32 weeks in preparation for transfer by the regional transport team.

The post is based across these units and is part of a team providing neonatal care and family centred services in line with UNICEF baby friendly standards and family integrated care as we work towards accreditation in both areas.
