As the Bar Manager at Fairmont Windsor Park, you will assist the service manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the outlet operations.
The successful applicant will consistently strive to improve guest and staff satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the Restaurant, whilst executing the service promise to our guests through the appropriate training provided.
In addition to that, you will have a background in fine-ding restaurants, with a creative flare and entrepreneurial attitude to the growth of the business.
Role and Responsibilities include –
1. Quickly assess guests' needs and flex style appropriately.
2. Use the guests' names whenever possible, in accordance with company policy and procedure.
3. Build and maintain rapport with regular guests (both residents and non-residents)
4. Effectively handle guest complaints, compliments, concerns or special requests.
5. To assist the Service Manager to develop and maintain a record of all regular guests with their preferences (e.g. beverage type, table location, birthdays, special family occasions).
6. To communicate effectively with the Kitchen through regular contact before, during and after service and ensure the team is up to date on menu changes, availability and specials.
7. Possess extensive knowledge of the menus and ingredients used. Must be able to give a full description of all the dishes.
8. Comprehensive understanding of the food allergy procedure.
9. To immediately react when a problem occurs with minimal inconvenience to the guests.
10. To check that staff are correctly dressed according to the restaurant standards.
11. Knowledge of docket procedure for starters, mains, desserts and coffee
12. To demonstrate through knowledge and ability, the execution of the service steps (i.e. greeting the guest(s), taking their order, serving of food, wine etc. during operating hours).

Job Prerequisites
14. Proven track record in a similar position in a hotel
15. High service quality standards driven and a ‘can do’ attitude.
16. A strong team player with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
17. Good communication and time management skills
18. Good leadership skills
19. Cocktail and Beverage Knowledge is mandatory.
