This well-established business, based in Derbyshire, are market leaders in their field, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the efficient operation of the accounts department.
Your new role
You will ensure the smooth operation of this Accounts Department. You will work within the finance team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.
1. Reconcile authorised purchase ledger invoices.
2. Create new supplier accounts and keep supplier account details updated
3. Manage and resolve any supplier invoice queries
4. Calculation and analysis of accruals and prepayments
5. Analysis of invoices
6. Reconcile bank accounts and assign sales invoices
7. Intepany postings and reconciliation
8. Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets register
9. Prepare/review weekly payment runs for approval
10. Assist with reviews of stock provisions
11. Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns
12. Provide information and analysis required for audits
What you'll need to succeed
13. AAT qualified /part-qualified accountant
14. Attention to detail and accuracy
15. Strong analytical and Excel skills
16. SAP systems knowledge
17. Experience working in a similar role
