About Lycali
At Lycali, we partner with organisations and individuals across the UK to deliver compassionate, person-centred health and social care. Our wraparound model supports people from initial contact through to therapeutic intervention, helping each person reach their potential.
We're expanding our network of open-minded, professional, and inclusive associate clinicians who share our values of empathy, collaboration, and integrity.
Role Overview
We're seeking experienced children's Counsellors and/or BABCP-accredited (or accreditable) CBT Therapists to provide trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children and young people (CYP).
You'll deliver evidence-based interventions, adapted for autistic and ADHD profiles, supporting anxiety, trauma, school avoidance, phobias, and related presentations.
This associate position offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for CYP and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 therapy (CBT and/or integrative counselling) for CYP aged approximately 5–18, adapting approaches for neurodivergent needs (structure, pacing, sensory considerations, visual supports).
* Conduct collaborative, formulation-driven assessments and co-create care plans and goals with CYP and families.
* Deliver psychoeducation and practical strategies to parents/carers; offer systemic liaison with schools and wider networks.
* Use outcome measures (e.g., RCADS, SDQ, Goal-Based Outcomes) to track progress and adapt formulations accordingly.
* Write clear, compassionate, person-centred clinical notes and reports; provide feedback sensitively and accessibly.
* Participate in clinical supervision and peer reflection; uphold GDPR, safeguarding, and clinical governance.
* Contribute to MDT discussions with psychologists, psychiatrists, and allied professionals as needed.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Counsellor/Psychotherapist (BACP/UKCP) and/or CBT Therapist (BABCP accredited or working towards accreditation).
* Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience delivering therapy to children and young people.
* Demonstrable experience working with neurodivergent CYP (autism, ADHD) and adapting interventions accordingly.
* Skilled in anxiety and trauma-focused work
* Excellent engagement, communication, and report-writing skills with a compassionate, strengths-based approach.
* Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
* Enhanced DBS and eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable
* Additional training/experience in EMDR for children, DBT skills, play-/creative-based approaches, or parent-mediated interventions.
* Experience liaising with education settings, CAMHS, and community services.
* Familiarity with neurodevelopmental conditions and co-occurring presentations (e.g., OCD, tics, ARFID, sleep difficulties).
* Availability for both remote and face-to-face sessions (Thanet or Whitstable clinic).
What We Offer
* Associate role with flexible, remote-friendly working.
* £60 per hour rate.
* Autonomy over your diary and caseload.
* Collaborative team culture with clinical peer support and supervision spaces.
* Ongoing CPD opportunities and access to shared online/physical resources.
* Optional clinic space in Thanet or Whitstable for in-person sessions.
* A thoughtful thank-you gift at Christmas.
* Meaningful, community-focused, person-led work.
If you're passionate about delivering high-quality, neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed therapy for children and young people, we'd love to hear from you.
