If you worked here, you wouldn’t just give yourself a proper future, you have a better present situation too.
By mid-2026 you’ll condense your working week very slightly and get every second Friday off. From day one, finishing at lunch on Fridays gives you a similar break.
Overtime won’t really be a thing for you any longer and you’ll get 26 days of holiday plus bank holidays. The Director values a lifestyle approach, which means you’ll spend your Fridays and evenings at leisure, and you’ll enjoy a relaxed approach to when you start and finish work.
At work you’ll have plenty of freedom too. You’ll have a lot of responsibility and run significant projects, and you’ll get to do it your way, without feeling like you’re under a microscope. Support is there when you need it but in large part you’ll take a strong brief and instructions, then go about delivering your work in your own way.
This also means that you’ll have a big hand in design decisions, details and overall concept work too. It’s rare for a Technologist to be offered this freedom by an Architect.
You’d be working at a new practice in Manchester city centre. Sounds risky, but the work is secure and long term. The projects are already large scale and high value, and there’s a big pipeline.
That’s why you’d be such a key figure here. You’ll manage the day to day, which lets the Director work on the business. Moving forward you’ll help shape the future working conditions, benefits and hours.
Eventually, you’ll be offered some ownership. Shares will mean your future is secure, you’ll earn well above what you could possibly get in every other practice and also own a saleable asset.
To make sure you won’t be overworked, you’ll have a big hand in recruiting and managing the team and resources.
