Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert advice on medication use, and ensuring optimal patient care. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, medication administration, and patient care protocols, particularly within ICU settings. The Pharmacist will play a vital part in supporting healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes through precise pharmaceutical services.
Duties
* Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with doctors' orders and legal requirements
* Offer expert advice to patients regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and review treatment plans
* Monitor patient responses to prescribed therapies and adjust medication regimens as necessary
* Maintain comprehensive records of prescriptions dispensed and patient interactions
* Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and safety standards
* Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee proper storage of pharmaceuticals
* Provide specialised support in ICU settings, including medication administration and patient care assistance
* Educate patients on health management strategies related to their medication therapy
Requirements
* Qualified Pharmacist registration with the appropriate regulatory body
* Proven experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably with ICU experience or critical care environments
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols
* Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
* Attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accuracy in dispensing and record keeping
* Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, confidentiality, and professional ethics

Pay: £25.00 per hour
