Registered Nurse - A&E - Conquest Hospital
We are a busy Emergency Department, treating around 50,000 patients a year. Our ENP service sees around 25% of attendances. Our team includes skilled adult and paediatric nurses who are enthusiastic about sharing their experience and knowledge.Our Head of Nursing, Matrons, Sisters, and Charge Nurses work clinically to ensure high standards of care and continuous staff support. We've also developed welfare teams, so there's always someone available to listen and support you.
Main duties of the job
Provide direct emergency nursing care, assess patient's needs and escalate appropriately, planning their care to support early treatment and decision making. To participate within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering appropriate safe patient care in a timely fashion. Utilising appropriate extended scope roles/skills with appropriate training.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
 * Registered Nurse and hold active registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
 * Diploma/Degree level qualification relevant to role
 * Professional qualification and knowledge of patient assessment, planning, developing and implementing programmes of care
 * Evidence of mandatory and statutory essential training skills, for example, Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire etc
 * Post Graduate qualification at Degree level relevant to role to demonstrate clinical skills
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
 * Professional clinical knowledge skills and skills that demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, develop and implement programmes of care
 * Ability to apply professional judgement and problem solve
 * Able to support learners and clinical supervision of junior staff.
 * Able to support mentors in decisions related to students/learners and make judgements regarding competence and fitness to practice.
 * Day to day management of a patient caseload and delegate effectively to clinical support workers
Other
 * Able to manage the physical and emotional demands of the role, including moving and handling of patients, able to concentrate to provide clinical care, calculation of drug dosages and communication of distressing or unwelcome information
 * Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (for domiciliary community role) and ability to travel between sites
